John E. Jenkins, Inc. performed the full civil sitework package for Hambright Industrial, a 225,000-square-foot tilt-wall industrial building in Huntersville, North Carolina, working for Edifice General Contractors on a Trinity Capital Advisors development.

The project site sits at Hambright and Mt. Holly-Huntersville Roads and covered nearly 25 acres, with roughly 19.5 acres disturbed. Jenkins' scope began with construction layout, traffic control, erosion-control setup, and mass clearing and grubbing across a site that included both open field and wooded conditions.

The earthwork package balanced the site and prepared the building pad, pavement areas, curb lines, sidewalk areas and yard areas. Project documents called for more than 130,000 cubic yards of cut/fill, onsite topsoil management, and a wet pond that required major excavation and material movement.

Jenkins also delivered the underground and finish-sitework package: RCP storm drainage feeding a wet pond, relocated sanitary sewer, ductile-iron water utilities, retaining-wall coordination, light-duty and heavy-duty asphalt paving, curb and gutter, striping and signage, plus offsite road improvements on both Hambright Road and Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road.
